So, I watched The Dollhouse for the first time tonight. First of all, I'm surprised Joss bothered to sign another contract with Fox. I mean, after what they did to Firefly, how could he trust them again?

The show itself was nowhere near as engaging as Firefly. I didn't really get pulled into it until the last ten minutes. I LOVE that Badger is in it! A recurring character at that! Of course he's not playing Badger. I like what he's doing, though. Kind of a New Yorker accent. Real subtle, though.

The thing I realized more than anything else is that Echo is more or less River over and over and over again. River's a girl whose brain got all screwed with. Echo is a girl who gets her brain screwed with every episode. This must have been a goldmine of a story for Joss. He gets to write and rewrite the same kind of mystery and mythos for Echo that he took an entire season of Firefly and a movie to accomplish for River!

Saw a cool, longer trailer for Watchmen, but I'm still not convinced. I like that it's rated R. About time a superhero movie stop catering to kids. I don't like that it looks so campy. It's not Joel Shumacher, but SOME artistic license is warranted, I think. It doesn't have to look EXACTLY like the graphic novel.

Can NOT wait for Wolverine!!!!! I saw three new trailers for the movie and one has me a little confused. Is Sabertooth supposed to be Logan's brother? And I saw Cyclops in it. Doth this mean Jeanie will make an appearance???

In other news, I hate chemistry exams.

In other other news, I loathe chemistry labs with chemistry partners who have no fucking idea what they're doing.

Finally, what do you all think? Should I make this journal "private" or "semi-private" like I've seen a lot on LJ? How does someone go about doing that? And where do you all get those sweet backgrounds?
omg! have you seen the tv spot for the upcoming GIJOE movie?! I LOVE Dennis Quaid!! Not sure who the other people are, but DAMN! I can't wait for the next trailer! Do you think people would get confused if I said that I was a "trailer whore"? Did I mention that I love Dennis Quaid?? :D

DiffyQs tonight, with a some more youtube in between, I'm sure.

But first, I'll just write that doing math to my new Firefly soundtrack CD lulls me into a state of mathematical happiness that I almost wish I had more equations. Almost.

I completely missed the inauguration. I'm not sure what I was supposed to do or feel if I had watched it, though. It's the only thing people are talking about, so it must have been good. As a biology major, I'm not terribly interested in politics. Basically, as long as I still have money for gas and food and books, I'll be happy. I think maybe people get angry or depressed only when they ask for too much and then wonder why they can't get it. We have so much here in America. And it isn't THAT hard to get a job, as long as you're willing to put up with messy floors or people sometimes. I don't flip burgers, but I get a little dirty sometimes where I work. Then when I go home I clean up and look smashing in time for the next movie or date (I wish).

So, like I said before, I joined LJ for the sweet sci-fi communities. But, I'm still not sure what to write about here on my page. How can I best express with words the giant inescapable grin on my face from reading all the great Firefly fandom I've discovered here? What else would you all like to read from me? Suggestions?

My bff got me "The Story", the album by Brandi Carlile on CD for Christmas. I can't stop listening to it! I first heard her on Grey's Anatomy, and now I'm obsessed. Especially the song "Turpentine". If you like a cross between rock and bluegrass, she's aMAZing!

I start college again soon. I guess I shouldn't say exactly where, but I'm DESPERATELY excited! I just hope I haven't signed up for too many classes. Is 18 too much?

Guess that's all for now. Let me know if there's anything you all want to know about little ol' me. I hope I have more friends/readers soon.

Hello. My name is Gracie, but I'm using the username Justkeepflying.

My new friend, mckavian , I should add some content here so people know that I'm real and not a robot. Although, I would be friends with a robot if the robot was anything like Wall-E or R2D2. But just so everyone on livejournal feels better, I promise I am not made up of microprocessors and personal scanning software. Just my wits and my metahuman ability to read your mind!

If you can tell purely by my username that I am a die-hard fan of the Firefly series and the movie Serenity, then you and I are instantly going to get along!

I joined Livejournal mostly for the scifi communities, but after reading what you all have been writing, I want to get more involved and start making soem serious livejournal friends! So please feel free to add me!
